Frisco Texas Attractions
Sports:
The minor league AA Frisco RoughRiders and their Prairie dog
Mascot, Deuce, are arguably the most popular sports team to
call Frisco home, but they are most certainly not the only
sporting event in town. Hockey your sport of
choice? Come see
the Texas Tornadoes at the Dr. Pepper Star Center. Major League
Soccer even made the move north; FC Dallas takes the field at
Pizza Hut Park. They say football is king in Texas, and Frisco
has indoor football too. Frisco Thunder, a part of the intense
football league, made their entrance in the spring of
2007.
Shopping:
Good shopping is something we’ve come to expect in the Dallas
Metroplex and Frisco does not disappoint. The fun begins at the
northeast corner of the tollway and 121 where you can’t miss
the big blue Ikea. The Swedish home furnishing store is a quite
a hit in North Texas. Just down the street is the Stonebriar
Centre, a mall with great department and specialty stores, a
merry-go-round, movie theatre, ice rink and huge dining
selection when you are ready for a break.
Sam
Moon
, a popular Dallas store, known for its costume jewelry and
purses also has a Frisco address. For those looking for some
“not so traditional” shopping, visit downtown Frisco for
specialty stores and the
Frisco Farmers
Market
to support our farmers. Golfers, you may prefer to check out
the very large PGA Superstore or maybe play a round at either
the Westin Stonebriar Resort Golf Club or the Trails of
Frisco.
Music & Arts:
Frisco is home to one of the largest, private collections of
contemporary sculpture art. Come to Hall Office Park to visit
the Texas Sculpture Garden
, a magnificent collection of indoor and outdoor art. The
Dr Pepper Ballpark and Pizza Hut Park are great concert venues.
Frisco attracts big names such as Jimmy Buffett and George
Strait.
